SERVICE INFORMATION

The SE trim level Maxima is the only trim level factory equipped with fog lights. Nissan does not recommend installation of fog lights, Nissan supplied or aftermarket, onto GXE or GLE Maxima's for two main reasons:

1. The factory SE fog lights or aftermarket fog lights cannot be installed on non-SE models because of the LAN/Body Control Module electrical system. The non-SE models are not pre-wired for fog lights. A typical fog light harness cannot be adapted to the Maxima LAN/Body Control Module system which uses pulsed signals instead of a constant current to control the fog lights. Because of this type of electrical system, a Genuine Nissan Accessory Fog Light kit will not be developed for dealer installation.

2. There is no clear marking on the bumper fascia to indicate where to cut an opening that will have an acceptable appearance and properly fit the factory SE fog lights. The existing contour lines in the bumper fascia do not match the size of the factory SE fog light.

Please note that OP Codes YA08AA, YA10AA, YA12AA and YA14AA do not apply to the 1995 Maxima (A32). Claims utilizing these codes will be suspended for 380/385 errors.
