How To Switch Diagnostic Test Modes:

PROCEDURE
The diagnostic trouble code can be read by the following methods.
(Either code for the 1st trip or the 2nd trip can be read.)

^ The number of blinks of the malfunction indicator lamp represent trouble codes in the Diagnostic Test Mode II (Self-Diagnostic Results). Examples: 11, 21, 103, 114, etc.
These Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are assigned by NISSAN.

NOTE: Output of the trouble code indicates that the indicated circuit has a malfunction. However, in case of the Mode II and Generic Scan Tool (GST) they do not indicate whether the malfunction is still occurring or occurred in the past and returned to normal.

DTC Display Examples
Long (0.6 second) blinking indicates the number of ten digits, and short (0.3 second) blinking indicates the number of single digits. For example, the malfunction indicator lamp blinks 10 times for 6 seconds (0.6 seconds x 10 times) and then it blinks three times for about 1 second (0.3 seconds x 3 times). This indicates the DTC "103" and refers to the malfunction of the park/neutral position switch.
