With Consult Scan Tool

The OEM service manual does not contain a procedure for clearing "PAST" air bag codes without the use of CONSULT (scan tool.) The following procedure is used to clear codes after Self Diagnosis Mode has been entered and failures repaired.







WARNING:

While CONSULT is displaying this "SELF-DIAG RESULT" information, do not disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.








When finishing diagnosis, make sure to change CONSULT display to SELECT SYSTEM mode by using BACK KEY.

1. After repairing malfunctioning parts, press "ERASE" to clear self-diagnosis results.

ERASE" function requires selecting "ERASE", and completing step 2.

3. Push Back key of CONSULT until SELECT SYSTEM mode appears to make "SELF-DIAGNOSIS" user mode.

If malfunctioning parts are not completely repaired, "AIR BAG" warning lamp will blink every 0.5 seconds.

4. Push the power off switch.
5. Turn off ignition switch, disconnect CONSULT.
6. Turn ignition switch to "ON"."AIR BAG" warning lamp should come on for about 7 seconds and then go off.
