Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

1. Disarm SRS as described under Air Bag Arming and Disarming.
2. Disconnect driver and passenger air bag module connectors.
3. Remove transmission shifter cover plate.
4. Remove ash tray.
5. Remove two center console attaching screws from under shifter cover plate.
6. Remove two console rear attaching screws from each side of console, then the console
7. Disconnect diagnosis sensor unit connector, Fig. 31.
8. Using a T50 Torx bit, remove ground bolt and three special bolts securing diagnosis sensor unit, then the unit.
9. Reverse procedure to install. During installation, arrow marking on diagnosis sensor unit must face toward front of vehicle. Use new coated bolts when installing diagnosis sensor unit.
