HOW TO CLEAR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODESThe diagnostic trouble code can be erased by the following methods.
1. Selecting Mode 4 with Generic Scan Tool.
^ If the battery terminal is disconnected, the diagnostic trouble code will be lost within 24 hours.
^ When you erase the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC), using CONSULT or GST is easier and quicker than switching the mode selector on the Engine Control Module (ECM).
