Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

OVERALL FUNCTION CHECK
Use this procedure to check the overall function of the park/neutral position switch circuit. During this check, a DTC might not be confirmed.

WITH CONSULT
1) Turn ignition switch "ON".




2) Perform "PARK/NEUT POSI SW CKT" in "FUNCTION TEST" mode with CONSULT.

OR

WITH CONSULT



2) Select "P/N POSI SW" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT.




3) Check the "P/N POSI 5W" signal under the conditions shown in the image.

OR

WITH NO TOOLS
1) Turn ignition switch "ON".







2) Check voltage between ECM terminal (22) and body ground under the conditions shown in the image.
