1. Vehicle should be located in a shaded, well ventilated area.
2. Close all doors and leave drivers window open.
3. Open vehicle hood and connect gauge set to A/C system.
4. Insert a thermometer in the vent outlet, then determine relative humidity and ambient air temperature.
5. On manually operated models, position temperature lever to "Cold", mode door to "Vent", intake door to "Recirc" and fan speed to "Max.
6. On automatically operated models, set up ACTIVE-TEST with CONSULT and set each component as follows:
a. Set mode door to "VENT.
b. Set intake door to "REC.
c. Set air mix door to "FULL-COLD.
d. Set compressor to "ON.
e. Set blower motor to "12V.
f. Set up self diagnosis step 2 and set code No. "66."
7. Start engine and run at 1500 RPM for at least 10 minutes.
8. Compare discharge air temperature, high pressure reading and low pressure reading with the charts in Fig. 14.
9. Any results found outside of specifications may indicate a need for further inspection and/or repair.
