Rear Wiper and Washer System Description
WIPER OPERATIONThe rear wiper switch is controlled by a lever built into the cluster switch RH.
There are two wiper switch positions:
^ ON (LO speed)
^ MIST (One touch)
With the ignition switch in the ACC or ON position, power is supplied
^ through 1O A fuse [No. (4) located in the fuse block (J/B)]
^ to rear wiper motor terminal (2), and
Low speed wiper operation
Ground is supplied to rear wiper switch terminal (23) through body grounds (M3) and (M90).
When the rear wiper switch is placed in the ON position, ground is supplied
^ through rear wiper switch terminal (20)
^ to rear wiper motor terminal (3)
With power and ground supplied, rear wiper motor will operate.
Auto stop operation
With the rear wiper switch turned OFF, rear wiper motor will continue to operate until wiper arm reaches rear window base.
When wiper arm is not located at base of rear window with rear wiper switch OFF, ground is supplied
^ to rear wiper motor terminal (3)
^ through rear wiper switch terminal (20)
^ to rear wiper switch terminal (21)
^ through rear wiper motor terminal (1) in order to continue rear wiper motor operation at low speed.
Ground is also supplied
^ to rear wiper motor terminal (4)
^ through body ground (D204).
When wiper arm reaches base of rear window, rear wiper motor terminals (2) and (3) are connected instead of terminals (3) and (4). Rear wiper motor will then stop wiper arm at the PARK position.
One touch operation
With the rear wiper switch turned to MIST, the rear wiper motor operates the wiper arm at low speed until the switch lever is released. This function works in the same manner as the low speed operation.
WASHER OPERATION
With the ignition switch in the ACC or ON position, power is supplied
^ through 1O A fuse [No. (4), located in the fuse block (J/B)]
^ to rear washer motor terminal (2).
When the lever is turned to the WASH position, ground is supplied
^ to rear washer motor terminal (1)
^ from terminal (22) of rear wiper switch
^ through terminal (23) of rear wiper switch, and
^ through body grounds (M3) and (M90).
With power and ground is supplied, the rear washer motor operates.
The rear wiper motor operates when the lever is turned to WASH position.
