Wiper Control Module: Description and Operation

Intermittent operation
Intermittent operation can be set variable by turning the intermittent wiper volume knob. The wiper motor then operates the wiper at low speed at a set interval of about 1 to 20 seconds. This function is controlled by the time control unit.
Ground is supplied from body grounds (M3) and (M90) to front wiper switch terminal (14)
When the wiper switch is placed in the INT position, ground is supplied
^ to time control unit terminal (12)
^ from wiper switch terminal (12)
The desired interval time is input
^ to time control unit terminal (14)
^ from wiper switch terminal (17)

Washer and wiper combination operation
Operates wiper when headlamp washer switch (only for Canada models) or front washer switch is turned "ON" for at least 0.3 seconds.
Power is supplied at ignition switch ACC or ON
^ through 20 A fuse [No. (12), located in the fuse block (J/B)]
^ to wiper amp. terminal (5).
Ground is supplied
^ to front wiper switch terminal (14)
^ through body grounds (M3) and (M90), and
^ to headlamp washer relay terminal (5)
^ through body grounds (E13) and (E22).
When front wiper switch or headlamp washer switch is placed in the WASH position, ground is supplied
^ to time control unit terminal (13)
^ from wiper switch terminal (15).
Then ground is supplied from time control unit terminal (1) to wiper amp. terminal (6) to operate wiper.
