Collision Diagnosis
COLLISION DIAGNOSISOn vehicles which have experienced an air bag system deployment, certain SRS components must be replaced. To determine which components require replacement, perform the following steps.
1. Replace the diagnosis unit.
2. Remove the air bag module.
3. Inspect SRS components as described in the SRS Inspection Table. Replace any SRS components showing visible damage such as dents, cracks or deformities.
4. Conduct self-diagnosis. Ensure the remainder of the SRS is operating properly.
5. Install new air bag module.
6. Conduct self-diagnosis again.
On vehicles involved in a collision with no deployment of the air bag:
1. Check the SRS components using the, SRS Inspection Table.
- Replace any SRS components showing visible signs of damage(dents, cracks, and/or deformations).
2. Conduct self-diagnosis using CONSULT or "AIR BAG" warning lamp to ensure that the entire SRS operates properly.
