1993-96 ALTIMA - REAR DOOR PARTITION SEAL

APPLIED VEHICLE(S):
1993-96 Altima (U13)

APPLIED DATE(S):
Vehicles built before February 1996

SERVICE INFORMATION

If the front doors of a 1993-96 Altima need extra effort to open during damp weather, note that a ledge may be formed when the rear door partition seal is not flush to the rear edge of the "B" pillar. This condition can allow the partition sash rubber located at the front of the rear door to lodge under the ledge. Replace the rear door partition seal to resolve this incident.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Measure the gap between the front and rear door. The gap should be 3.5 to 5.5 mm. Under no circumstances should the door be adjusted if it is within these specifications.

2. Remove and replace the rear door partition seal. The seal must be replaced because the double sided tape which fastens it to the door is destroyed upon removal. Make sure the new seal is flush with the front edge of the rear door as shown in Figure 2.
