Crankshaft Position Sensor (OBD)

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE

WITH CONSULT
1) Turn ignition switch "ON" and select "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT.
2) Start engine and run it for at least 15 seconds at idle speed.

OR

WITH GST
1) Start engine and run it for at least 15 seconds at idle speed.
2) Select "MODE 3" with GST.

OR

WITH NO TOOLS
1) Start engine and run it for at least 15 seconds at idle speed.
2) Turn ignition switch "OFF", wait at least 5 seconds and then turn "ON".
3) Perform "Diagnostic Test Mode II" (Self-diagnostic results) with ECM.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

COMPONENT INSPECTION
1. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor (OBD) harness connector.
2. Loosen the fixing bolt of the sensor.
3. Remove the sensor.




4. Visually check the sensor for chipping.




5. Check resistance as shown in the figure.

Resistance:
M/T models
432 - 528 Ohms at 25°C (77°F)
A/T models
166.5 - 2O3.5 Ohms at 25°C (77°F)
