Water Separator Kit Installation
1. Inspect hose elbow connector contained in the water separator kit (see Figure 4).
a. If the elbow connector has an integral mesh (screen) over the opening of the elbow (see Figure 3), install this part according to step 2 and Figure 4.
b. If the elbow connector does not have an integral mesh (screen) over the opening, order the correct elbow connector as specified under "Part Information" in this bulletin. Install this elbow connector according to step 2 and Figure 4.
2. Assemble the kit supplied components as shown in Figure 4.
NOTE:
Make sure the protector is correctly positioned on hose A (see Figure 4).
3. Use the existing bolts and install the kit supplied canister bracket (with other kit components assembled on it) and the EVAP canister (with vent control valve) to the vehicle (see Figure 5).
4. Install hose C to the EVAP vent control valve (see Figure 5).
5. Route hose A (with the plastic elbow in the end of it) towards the right rear wheel well and insert the elbow into the body hole where the breather valve was originally removed (see Figure 6).
6. Attach the hose to the vehicle wire harness clip (see Figure 6).
7. Reconnect the 2 smaller diameter hoses to the EVAP canister (see Figure 7).
8. Reconnect the electrical harness to the EVAP vent control valve (see Figure 7).
9. Reinstall the inner wheel well panel.
10. Reinstall the tire. Torque wheel lug nuts to 72 - 87 ft-lb (10-12 kg-m).
11. Road test vehicle.
