Inputs
a) The console switch inputs selected operating modes. When the switch is in the AUTO mode, no signal is supplied to the control unit. When in the IMPACT OFF mode, a 12 volt signal is supplied through terminal # 18 and when in the ALARM OFF mode, a 12 volt signal is supplied through terminal # 17.b) The impact sensor (located under the instrument panel, in all models except the 1997.5 Altima GLE and LE) supplies a pulse to the control unit through terminals # 14 (light impact), and # 11 (heavy impact).
c) The trunk room lamp switch supplies input through terminal # 9 indicating that the trunk has been opened. This will trigger an alarm when the system is armed or an error code when attempting to arm the system with the trunk open.
d) The hood switch supplies input through terminal # 8 indicating that the hood is open. This will trigger an alarm if opened with the system armed or an error tone when attempting to arm the system with the hood open.
e) The door switch supplies input through terminal # 10 indicating that a vehicle door has been opened. This will trigger an alarm if opened when the system is armed or an error tone when attempting to arm the system with a door open.
f) The ignition switch supplies input through terminal # 19 indicating that the switch is in the ACC position. This signal will disarm the system when passively armed, silence the alarm or disallow the system to be armed.
g) The door lock timer supplies input through terminal # 16 indicating that the doors have been locked with the power door lock switch (passive arming).
