Engine Lubrication: Specifications
WARNING: BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURN YOURSELF, AS THE ENGINE AND OIL MAY BE HOT.
1. Put selector lever in Park position and check the oil level.
2. Remove the oil pressure switch.
3. Install a pressure gauge.
4. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
5. Check the oil pressure with the engine running under no-load. With the engine running at 3,000 RPM the approximate discharge pressure should be 412 - 481 kPa (60 - 70 psi) and at idle the pressure should be more than 78 kPa (11 psi). If the difference is extreme, check oil passage and oil pump for oil leaks.
6. Install the oil pressure switch with sealant.
