TOR CONV CLUTCH SV

DESCRIPTION
The torque converter clutch solenoid valve is activated, with the gear in "D4" by the A/T control unit in response to signals sent from the vehicle speed and throttle position sensors. Lock-up piston operation will then be controlled.
Lock-up operation, however, is prohibited when ATF temperature is too low.




DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
After the repair, perform the following procedure to confirm that the malfunction is eliminated.

WITH CONSULT
(1) Start engine.




(2) Select SELF-DIAG RESULTS mode with CONSULT.
(3) Drive vehicle in D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> D4 -> D4 lock-up position.

OR

WITH GST
(1) Start engine.




(2) Drive vehicle in D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> D4 -> D4 lock-up position.
(3) Select MODE 7 with GST.

OR

WITHOUT SCAN TOOLS
(1) Start engine.
(2) Drive vehicle in D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> D4 -> D4 lock-up position.




(3) Perform self-diagnosis.
