Fog/Driving Lamp: Description and Operation
Power is supplied at all times^ to fog lamp relay terminal (3)
^ through 15 A fuse (No. (46), located in the fusible link and fuse box)
^ to lighting switch terminal (5)
^ through 15 A fuse (No. (40), located in the fuse and fusible link box)
With the lighting switch in the 2ND position and LOW ("B") position, power is supplied
^ from terminal (7) of the lighting switch
^ to fog lamp relay-2 terminal (4)
^ through fog lamp relay-2 terminal (3)
^ to fog lamp relay-1 terminal (1).
FOG LAMP OPERATION
Headlamp (Low beam) operation
The fog lamp switch is built into the combination switch. The lighting switch must be in the 2ND position and LOW ("B") position for fog lamp operation.
With the fog lamp switch in the ON position, ground is supplied
^ to fog lamp relay-1 terminal (2)
^ through the fog lamp switch and body grounds (E28) and (E42).
The fog lamp relay-1 is energized and power is supplied
^ from fog lamp relay-1 terminal (5)
^ to terminal (1) of each fog lamp.
Ground is supplied to terminal (2) of each fog lamp through body grounds (E28) and (M42).
With power and ground supplied, the fog lamps illuminate.
Headlamp (High beam/flash-to-pass) operation
With the lighting switch in the 2ND position and HIGH ("A") position, power is supplied
^ through terminal (6) of the lighting switch
^ to fog lamp relay-2 terminal (1)
The fog lamp relay-2 is energized and ground is supplied.
^ through terminal (2) of the fog lamp relay-2
^ to body grounds (E28) and (E42).
Then, power supply to the fog lamp relay-1 is cut, turning fog lamps OFF.
