Window Run Rubber Removal
CAUTION:Use appropriate covers to protect the vehicle paint when removing the window run rubber.
1. Remove the outside door rear view side mirror (see Figure 1).
2. Remove the inside door finisher (see Figure 2).
3. Remove the inside door metal pull bracket.
4. Remove the inside door plastic vapor barrier.
5. Lower the window to the point that the window lower mounting bolts are visible through the inner door panel.
6. Remove the bolts that mount the window to the regulator carrier plate.
7. To remove the window, raise the glass and lift it out of the inner door with the rear end of the glass up. Place the glass in a safe place until it is reinstalled.
8. Remove the bolts that attach the window run: two on the front run, two on the rear run, and one stud with acorn nut under the side mirror finisher (see Figure 3).
9. Starting at the top middle portion of the door, pull the window run rubber down to start removal (see Figure 4).
10. Remove the front vertical leg of the window run rubber. Be careful to first remove the run rubber stud from the door hole (see Figure 5).
CAUTION:
When lifting the run rubber leg up out of the door, be sure to avoid catching it on wires, etc. inside the door.
11. Pull the rear vertical leg of the window run rubber forward at the top, then lift it out of the door (see Figure 6).
CAUTION:
During removal, avoid bending the window run rubber and be careful not to catch it on wires, lock rods, etc. inside the door.
