Window Run Rubber Installation
CAUTION:Use appropriate covers to protect the vehicle paint when installing the window run rubber.
1. Working on the outside of the door, install the rear vertical portion of the window run rubber loosely into the door. Be careful to avoid bending or deforming the run rubber. Do not install the run rubber mounting bolts at this time.
2. Install the front vertical portion of the run rubber and get the upper stud into its hole in the door.
3. Install approximately 200 mm (8 in.) of the top front run rubber to hold it in place.
4. Press the rear vertical portion of the run rubber into place and push upward as far as it will go into the upper rear corner of the door (see Figure 7). The character lines should align.
5. Push the remaining top portion of the run rubber into place.
6. Use a non-marring plastic tool to roll the molding into place as needed.
7. Install the 8 mm acorn nut onto the run rubber stud at the front vertical portion and tighten (see Figure 8).
8. Install the four bolts into the front and rear portions of the window run and tighten.
9. Install the window. Make sure the glass is positioned correctly in the front and rear channels. Then hold the window back against the rear channel while the mount bolts are tightened (see Figure 9).
10. Move the window up and down to make sure it moves freely and fits correctly in its channels.
11. Re-assemble the following components in the reverse order they were removed:
^ Rear view side mirror and its inside trim cover
^ Inside door plastic vapor barrier
^ Inside metal door pull bracket
^ Inside door finisher and trim pieces
