Service Procedure

1. If the lot number on the rear seat belt buckle is 023 or 029, the buckle requires replacement. Order the correct new buckle assembly from the part number listing:

2. Loosen and remove the two 14 mm bolts from the front of the lower rear seat cushion.

3. Remove the lower rear seat cushion.

4. Replace the affected seat belt buckle assembly.

NOTE:
The retractor and/or lap belt portion of the seat belt will NOT be replaced. Only the affected buckle portions need replacement.

5. Torque the mounting bolt to 32-41 ft-lbs (43-55 N m, 4.4-5.6 kg-m).

6. Insert the seat belt buckles through the rear seat cushion openings, and install the rear seat cushion. Torque the mounting bolts to 19-24 ft-lbs (25-32 N m, 2.5-3.3 kg-m).

7. Insert the tongue into the buckle and confirm that it latches properly.


8. Cut the webbing of the removed buckles to destroy them.
