Impact Sensor: Description and Operation

The impact sensor ("G" Sensor) for the side air bags is used to measure the severity of a side impact. If the side impact is great enough, the Diagnosis Sensor Unit will deploy the corresponding side air bag. The system uses two satellite sensors, one in each center pillar.
