A/C - Heater Gurgle Noise: Overview

REFERENCE:
TS87-130

CLASSIFICATION:
HA87-016

DATE:
August 24, 1987

TITLE:
HEATER GURGLE NOISE

APPLIED VEHICLE(S):
300ZX, Maxima, 200SX, Truck & Pathfinder

SERVICE INFORMATION

The Applied Model vehicles may exhibit a gurgle noise from the heater core when the temperature control lever is moved to the warm/hot position. The noise will usually get louder as engine speed increases. This condition may be due to air trapped in the heater core. Use the Service Procedure to bleed the air out of the cooling system of incident vehicles.

NOTE: If it is verified that there are no air leaks in the cooling system (steps 1 and 2 below), the gurgle noise should go away if the heater is operated for 5-10 days during normal driving and cool-down cycles.
