CONSULT-II DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWARE UPDATE # 3 (AED00A-1)

This amended version of NTB00-017 updates the CONSULT-II Diagnostic Software from AED99C-1 to AED00A-1. Use this bulletin (NTB00-017a) to update CONSULT-II with the AED00A-1 diagnostic software.

SERVICE INFORMATION

CONSULT-II diagnostic software is being updated from AED99C-1 to AED00A-1.

The AED00A-1 software update will be included on the ASIST CD starting from July 15, 2000 and can be loaded directly from ASIST to CONSULT-II (refer to the Service Procedure below).

The CONSULT-II resident software should already be updated from version 3.1.3 to 3.2. If not, refer to step 14 of the "CONSULT-II Diagnostic Software Update Procedure" to update the resident software version.

NOTE:
CONSULT-II Operation Manuals are available in ASIST. To access the manuals, click the "CONSULT-II Manuals" button on the "CONSULT-II Software Update Screen" (see Figure 11 or 14 in the "CONSULT-II Diagnostic Software Update Procedure").





The updated software incorporates the enhancements to CONSULT-II operation:





NOTE:
The table shown includes enhancements made to the previous update (AED99C and AED99C-1).

CONSULT-II Enhancements for AED99C





In addition to the enhancements listed, the names (terms) used for referring to front and rear oxygen sensors have changed. The front oxygen sensor is now referred to as "S1 " instead of "Front". The rear oxygen sensor is now referred to as "S2" instead of "Rear". Please note the table shown:

The new oxygen sensor names are applied by CONSULT-II to all compatible vehicles regardless of model year.
