INCIDENT 1: RUBBING NOISE WHEN USING THE REAR HINGED ASSIST GRIP HANDLE

Verify:
This noise may occur when using the rear hinged assist grip handle.

Isolate:
This noise may be caused by contact between the rear hinged assist grip handle and the headliner and can be duplicated by pulling down on the assist grip handle.

Figure 1:

Repair:
Install a spacer (1.2 mm thick, 6.5 mm inside diameter & 10 to 13 mm outside diameter) between the assist grip handle and the headliner (see Figure 1). Tighten the assist grip handle mounting bolts to 10 N-m (1.0kg-m, 7 ft-lb, 87 in-lb).

Recheck:
Test the vehicle as described above to confirm the repair is complete.

INCIDENT 2: WIND NOISE COMING FROM THE OUTSIDE DOOR MIRROR

Verify:
This noise may occur when the vehicle is driven above 40 MPH.

Isolate:
This noise may be caused by a gap between the outside door mirror base molding and the door molding.

Figure 2:

Repair:
Adjust the outside door mirror base to reduce the molding gap to 0.5 - 0.8 mm (see Figure 2).

Recheck:
Test the vehicle as described above to confirm the repair is complete.

INCIDENT 3: INTERMITTENT RATTLE NOISE FROM THE SUNROOF WHEN IT IS OPENED

Verify:
This noise may occur when the sunroof glass is slid open and the vehicle is driven over 15 MPH.

Isolate:
This noise may be caused by contact between the sunroof glass and the roof reinforcing rib.

Repair:
1. Remove necessary components to lower the headliner.

NOTE: Do not remove the headliner from the vehicle. Only lower the headliner enough to access the roof reinforcing rib.

Figure 3:

2. Install a piece of foam pad (P/N 76884-71L01) to the roof reinforcing rib (see Figure 3).

Recheck:
Test the vehicle as described above to confirm the repair is complete.

INCIDENT 4: BUZZ NOISE FROM ROOF AREA

Verify:
This noise may occur when the vehicle is driven on rough roads at speeds over 15 MPH or when the left or right rear doors are closed with all the windows rolled up.

Isolate:
This noise may be caused by interference between the sunroof drain plate and the sunroof guide due to an incorrect angle between these components.

Repair:
1. Tilt the sunroof glass up.

Figure 4:

2. Slightly bend the sunroof drain plate, with a flat blade screwdriver, where it contacts the sunroof guide (see Figure 4).

Recheck:
Test the vehicle as described above to confirm the repair is complete.
