This amended version of NTB99-056 updates information in the Service Procedure section related to the "Front Area, Upper" and "Rear Area, Lower" repair procedures. This bulletin contains the supplemental information in NTB99-056c. Please refer to this bulletin (NTB99-056d) for complete bulletin information.
SERVICE INFORMATION
If a 2000 Maxima exhibits squeak and rattle noise(s), use the service procedures in this bulletin to resolve the incident(s).
CUSTOMER WORKSHEET
Refer to the Squeak and Rattle Diagnostic Worksheet section in this bulletin. This worksheet is used to help duplicate, identify and isolate squeaks and rattles. The worksheet MUST be filled out with the customer PRIOR to beginning the repair(s).
SERVICE PROCEDURE
FRONT AREA, UPPER (DASHBOARD, LOWER WINDSHIELD)
The front area, upper includes: Dash pad and instrument cluster, dash internal structure and components, windshield to dash interface area, glove box, audio and HVAC controls and vents.
For the procedures to identify and repair squeaks and rattles related to these areas, refer to the Front Area, Upper section in this bulletin.
UPPER AREA (HEADLINER, UPPER WINDSHIELD, SUNROOF)
The upper area includes: Roof, A, B, C, D pillars and trim, sun visors, electrical control panels in headliner or visors and pillar mounted seat belt retractors.
For the procedures to identify and repair squeaks and rattles related to these areas, refer to the Upper Area section in this bulletin.
REAR AREA, LOWER (DOOR AREA, SEATS, CENTER CONSOLE, REAR GLASS, HATCHES, FLOOR)
The rear area, lower includes: Door panels, glass and door mounted controls, front and rear seat assemblies, center console, carpeted areas, parcel shelf, interior mounted stop lamp.
