Odometer/Circuit Board Replacement Procedure
NOTE:Use appropriate covers to protect the steering wheel/column and surrounding instrument panel components during the replacement procedure.
1. Record the radio station pre-sets.
2. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
4. Adjust the steering wheel to the lowest position.
5. Remove three screws, then carefully remove the upper steering column cover (see Figure 2).
6. Remove two screws from the cluster lid A (see Figure 3).
7. Carefully remove cluster lid A by pulling it towards the steering wheel and simultaneously moving it up and to the left (see Figure 4).
8. Remove three screws from the instrument cluster assembly (see Figure 5).
9. Re-position the instrument cluster assembly to access the wire harness connectors by tipping the bottom upward while moving towards the steering wheel and then carefully moving it to the left (see Figure 6).
NOTE:
When re-positioning or handling the instrument cluster, be careful not to scratch the plastic lens cover or bend/damage the trip odometer reset knob.
10. Disconnect the two wire harness connectors from the cluster assembly (see Figure 6).
11. Remove the cluster assembly from the vehicle by carefully moving it to the left (see Figure 7).
12. Remove and save 9 mounting screws from the cluster rear cover (see Figure 8).
13. Release each integrated clip, then lift off the rear cover (see Figure 9).
14. Remove and save 14 mounting screws from the odometer/circuit board (see Figure 10).
15. Lift off the odometer/circuit board (see Figure 10).
16. Install the NEW odometer/circuit board on the cluster assembly.
17. Transfer all the light bulbs (one at a time) from the OLD circuit board to the NEW one.
NOTE:
Make sure all the light bulbs are installed in the correct locations.
18. Re-install the rear cover on the cluster assembly.
19. Re-install the instrument cluster assembly and related parts in the reverse order that they were removed, making sure the wire harness connectors are securely locked into position.
20. Adjust the steering wheel to its original position.
21. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
22. Re-program the radio station presets.
23. After the warranty claim is paid, destroy (break in half) the OLD odometer/circuit board and throw it away. Never re-use the OLD odometer/circuit board.
