Body - Front Door Windows Don't Work Properly

2000-2006 SENTRA; FRONT DOOR WINDOW GLASS
(LH OR RH) IMPROPER OPERATION

APPLIED VEHICLES:
2000 - 2006 Sentra (B15)

IF YOU CONFIRM

A front door window glass (left or right side):

^ Will not roll UP or DOWN correctly because

^ It popped out of the front window "run" (track).

ACTION

1. Remove the front door finisher and speaker.

2. Put the window glass back into the window run.

3. Reposition the window run per the Service Procedure.

4. Check the "glass guide" per the Service Procedure.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the front door finisher and door speaker.

^ Refer to section El in the ESM for door finisher removal information.





2. Remove the front window run attachment bolt shown in Figure 1.

3. Put the window glass back into the front window run.

4. Reinstall and fully tighten the front window run attachment bolt.

5. Roll the window all the way UP.

6. Reposition the window run approximately 1/8 inch towards the rear as follows:

a. Reach through the speaker opening.





b. Hold the window run support bracket as shown in Figure 2.

c. Then gently pull the window run towards the rear of the vehicle until it moves (repositions) approximately 1/8 inch.








7. Next, check the position of the "glass guide" (see Figure 3 and Figure 4).

^ The glass guide should be in contact with (touching) the window run.

^ If there is a gap, "bend" the glass guide until it makes contact with the window run. It should look as shown in Figure 4.

8. Roll the window UP and DOWN 3 or 4 times to make sure it operates smoothly and stays in the front window run.

9. Roll the window all the way DOWN, then open and close the door 3 or 4 times to make sure the window does not pop out of the window run.

10. Reinstall the door speaker and door finisher in reverse order.
