Door Mirror - Vibrates While Driving

SERVICE INFORMATION
If a LH or RH door mirror vibrates while driving, follow the Service Procedure below to repair the incident, it it should occur.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Road test the vehicle to confirm the incident.
2. If the mirror glass appears to vibrate, confirm by inserting a foam block between the glass edge and the housing. See Figure 1.
3. Road test the vehicle again.
^ If the mirror does not vibrate, go to step # 4.
^ If the mirror still vibrates, the entire mirror assembly may not be firmly attached to the door. Skip step # 4 and proceed to step # 5.
4. Confirm that the entire mirror assembly is firmly attached to the door.
^ If it is, the mirror glass may be loose.
^ The mirror glass is attached to the mirror actuator and the mirror actuator is fastened to the mirror base with 3 screws.
^ These 3 screws that attach the mirror actuator to the mirror base may be loose (see Figure 3).
^ Refer to the Service Procedure below to tighten the mirror actuator screws.
Service Procedure-Tightening of the Mirror Actuator Screws
A. Remove the mirror glass (see Figure 2).
B. Tighten 3 mirror actuator screws to 15.5-17.3 in-lb (1.76-1.96 N-m) (See Figure 3).
C. Reinstall the mirror glass.
D. Test drive the vehicle to confirm if the mirror still vibrates.
5. Examine the mirror assembly attachment to the door.
^ If it is loose, replace the mirror assembly.
^ Refer to the Service Manual, pages BT-35 (Removal and Installation of Door Trim) and BT-61 (Removal and Installation of Door Mirror).
^ Refer to the Parts Information in this bulletin for the part numbers of the new mirror assembly.
6. Road test the vehicle to confirm the incident has been resolved.
