TRUNK OPENER CANCEL SWITCH OPERATION

SERVICE INFORMATION

In the current 2002 Altima Owner's Manual, section 3 under "Trunk Lid", the Trunk Release Cancel Switch information is not correct.

^ It says the trunk cannot be opened with the Remote Controller (key fob) if the Trunk Release Cancel Switch is turned OFF. However, the system was designed to allow the key fob to open the trunk whether the cancel switch is ON or OFF.

If a customer comments that the trunk can be opened with the key fob even though the Trunk Cancel Switch is turned OFF, tell them that the system is working as designed.
