IF YOU CONFIRM
The studs are broken or damaged during rear suspension member removal or installation.
ACTION:
Replace rear side member.
See the Service Procedure for instructions for removing and installing the rear side member.

This repair procedure described in this bulletin must be performed as described. A complete and proper repair to this portion of the vehicle is essential to ensure repair integrity. If performed concurrently with any campaign repair, this repair must be claimed as part of the specific campaign repair. Any other actions will result in a suspended claim.

Digital pictures of the affected stud(s) must be provided from your dealership to the Center before the procedure can be approved.

^ SERVICE PROCEDURE: This section covers the step-by-step procedures for removal of the Rear Side Member and related pieces (as needed).
^ INSTALLATION: This section covers the step-by-step procedures for installation of the Rear Side Member and related pieces (as needed).
^ BODY ALIGNMENT: This section contains all the measurement points, and a description of them, for checking the reassembly of the body.
^ BODY SEALING: This section contains all the sealing and caulking points, and descriptions of them, for resealing of the body.
^ UNDERCOATING: This section contains the precautions for how to and areas to apply undercoating.
PREPARATION
1. Remove the following parts:
^ Trunk side finisher (RH and LH), trunk lid finisher, trunk floor carpet, spare tire cover, trunk finisher rear, rear trunk plate, spare tire, and other trunk trim parts. Refer to ESM SEC: EI
^ Rear kicking plate (RH and LH), rear body side welt (RH and LH), front seat (driver and passenger side), center console, rear seat (seat cushion and seatback assembly), rear seat lock anchor, rear seat side bolster assembly, carpet and rear seat belts. Refer to ESM SEC: EI, SE, and SB.
^ Center exhaust tube (and rear assembly), rear tire (RH and LH), rear suspension assembly, fuel tank, fuel filler hose, and fuel filler tube. Refer to ESM SEC: EX, FL, BR, BRC, and PB.
