LID RETAINER CLIP AVAILABILITY

This bulletin amends NTB02-014a. This version includes addition of model year 2003 Altima (L31) to the Applied Vehicles section ONLY. Please discard all paper copies of the earlier bulletin.

SERVICE INFORMATION





The front console box lid retainer clip is now available as a separate service part, should clip replacement become necessary (see Figure 1).

The entire console box assembly does NOT need to be ordered to obtain the retainer clip.

ACTIONS

^ Remove the old retainer clip.

^ Install new retainer clip.

^ Ensure the console door closes and latches properly.

The purpose of ACTIONS (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding shown.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Install the replacement retainer clip as follows:

1. Remove the old retainer clip by pulling it out of the console face with a pair of pliers being careful not to damage the console face.

NOTE:
If you cannot pull the clip out of the console face with pliers:

^ Remove the console box assembly (refer to the IP section of the applicable Service Manual for the console removal procedure)

^ Push the clip out from the backside of the console being careful not to damage the locking tabs that hold the clip in place

2. Install the new retainer clip by pushing it into the face of the console, making sure it is fully seated in the hole.

3. If previously removed, re-install the console box assembly.

4. Ensure the console door closes and properly latches.
