SERVICE INFORMATION

If a 2002 Altima exhibits a rattle, buzz, or vibration in the roof near the room lamp under various driving conditions:

^ Determine if the room lamp harness is vibrating/rattling against the headliner.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Test-drive the vehicle to confirm the incident noise is in the roof near the room lamp.

2. Remove the room lamp from the roof.

3. Gently pull the headliner down at the room lamp opening.

4. Insert a foam insulator (P/N 80845-71L00) between the room lamp harness and the headliner (see figures 1 and 2).

NOTE:
The foam insulator has a covered self-adhesive side. It is not necessary to remove the adhesive cover. The headliner and the room lamp will hold the foam insulator in place.

5. Put the room lamp back on.
