Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Rear Door(S)

NOTES:
1. To perform this procedure you must first remove the rear door quarter window. Refer to "REAR DOOR GLASS AND REGULATOR, Removal and Installation" in the GW section of the appropriate Electronic Service Manual.

2. You will use the same steps detailed in Repair Procedure - Front Door(s), above.

3. For the rear door sashes there are two pieces of blackout tape to be applied:

^ Larger section: Tape, RR (rear) Door, LH (left-hand) or RH (right-hand).

^ Smaller section: Rear Door Sash Tape, LH (left-hand) or RH (right-hand).

See Figure 22 for a view of the two pieces of blackout tape to be applied on a Rear Left-hand door.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The two pieces of rear door blackout tape must be applied as follows:

^ FIRST: Apply the Rear Door Sash Tape LH and/or RH (small section of tape).

The Rear Door Sash Tape has a perforated part that has to be torn off and removed before the tape is applied (see Figure 22).

^ NEXT: Apply the Tape, RR Door, LH and/or RH (larger section of tape).

CAUTION:
They must be applied in that order. Reason: The larger tape section overlaps the top edge of the smaller section by 3 mm (see Figures 22 and 23).

See Figure 23 for a view of the areas on the door sash where the blackout tape pieces should be placed.

3. The placement of masking tape "guides" for Rear Door blackout tape application is similar to that for front doors.

See Figure 24 for "guide" placement information.

4. Re-install the rear door quarter window. Refer to "REAR DOOR GLASS AND REGULATOR, Removal and Installation" in the GW section of the appropriate Electronic Service Manual.
