Suspension - Intermittent Clunking Noise: Overview

2002-2003 ALTIMA; CLUNK NOISE FROM FRONT SUSPENSION

APPLIED VEHICLES:
2002-2003 Altima (L31)

IF YOU CONFIRM:

An intermittent (difficult to duplicate) "clunk" noise coming from the front suspension area when:

^ first accelerating OR,

^ applying the brakes OR,

^ going over bumps.

ACTIONS:

^ Check/Tighten the Torque on the Front Suspension Components.





^ Measure Clearance Between the Transverse Link Bushing and the Opening in the Suspension Member (see Figure 1, above).

^ If necessary: Squeeze (Close) the Front Transverse Link "Suspension Member" (Frame) Opening Slightly.
