SERVICE PROCEDURE

Mark the door glass before removal

^ Part of this procedure will have you remove and re-install the door glass.

^ You must adjust the door glass on the Coupe and the Roadster after it is re-installed. Otherwise, it may hit the roof when the door is opened and closed.

^ You must mark the door glass before you remove it. This will greatly help you re-install it to its original adjustment position.

1. Open the door and put tape on the top edge of the door glass (see Figure 1).

2. Close the door and allow the window to raise to its normal closed position.

3. Using the lower edge of the roof line as a guide:

Mark the window position with a pen (see Figure 2).

NOTE:
This marked position will be used to set the window adjustment when it is re-installed.

Replace the window regulator and re-install the door glass

1. Remove the door module assembly.

^ Refer to GW/Front Glass and Regulator/Removal and Installation in the appropriate ESM for removal instructions.

2. Replace the window regulator with the part listed in the Parts Information section.

^ Refer to GW/Front Glass and Regulator/Disassembly and Assembly in the appropriate ESM for removal and installation instructions

3. Apply Genuine Nissan Window Regulator Grease (listed in the Parts Information section) to the front window regulator slide rail (see Figures 3 and 4).

NOTE:
GENUINE NISSAN WINDOW REGULATOR GREASE MUST BE USED for this repair. This product is listed in the Parts Information. This product is the ONLY approved grease for this repair.

4. Re-install the door module assembly.

5. Re-install the door glass.

Reset the window motor limit switch (integrated in the motor)

CAUTION:

^ Motor limit switch must be reset any time the motor or regulator is replaced.

^ DO NOT operate the glass automatically to raise the glass to the top position.

^ Leave the door CLOSED during this procedure. (Or, press and hold the door switch during the reset procedure).

1. Raise the glass to the top position.

2. While pressing and holding the reset switch:

Lower glass to the bottom position.

3. Release the reset switch, and check that the reset switch returns (pops up) to the original position.

4. Then raise the glass to the top position.

Adjust the door glass

1. With the door closed, make sure the regulator is all the way up.

2. Using the location marked in step 3:

Adjust the window to its original position, then tighten it in place.

3. Double check to make sure the window does not hit the roof when the door is opened and closed.

Finish reassembling the vehicle

Re-install the door panel and any other parts that were removed.
