IF YOU CONFIRM
The MIL is "ON" with
^ DTC P0335 CKP Sensor (POS) stored in the engine control unit,
ACTIONS
^ Remove the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
^ Using Essential Tool J-47447 (CKPOS Deburr tool), de-burr the edge of the Sensor Plate (attached to the flywheel).
^ Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor and clear the code.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing the repair.
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Place the transmission in Neutral.
3. Connect Consult II and start the engine. With the engine at idle select the following screens:
CAUTION:
The engine must stay at idle during this step.

[Work Support]
[Fuel Pressure Release]
[Start]
Fuel pump and engine should stop running in a few seconds.
CAUTION:
DO NOT turn the ignition key OFF in steps 4 thru 9. This is so CONSULT II will hold the car in Fuel Pressure Release mode during these steps.
4. Remove engine undercover.
5. Remove bottom of manual transmission clutch dust cover.
6. Remove the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Refer to the EC Section of the appropriate ESM.
7. Lubricate the dust seal in the crankshaft sensor position hole to aid insertion of the Essential tool.
8. Install Essential Tool J-47447 (CKPOS Deburr tool) into the Crankshaft Position Sensor hole.
9. Crank the starter for at least 5 but no more than 10 seconds.
10. Back out of CONSULT II Work Support and turn the ignition key OFF.
11. Remove the Deburr tool.
12. Install a new Crankshaft Position Sensor from the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
13. Install the manual transmission clutch dust cover and engine undercover.
14. Start the engine and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
CAUTION:
The engine must stay at idle for a few minutes.
15. Use CONSULT-II to erase all DTCs.
16. Test drive and re-check for DTCs.
