IF YOU CONFIRM

One or more of the Homelink(R) inside mirror buttons' paint has faded, peeled, or chipped.

ACTIONS

^ Do not replace the entire inside mirror assembly for this incident.

^ Replace all the buttons with the parts contained in the kit listed in the Parts Information table.





^ Pay special attention to the two buttons located on the right side of the mirror. Select the correct pair based on the original mirror installed in the vehicle. See Figure 1.

The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding the table above.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Reference the photo to identify and select the appropriate set of buttons to replace.

^ The total number of buttons to replace for each inside mirror is 5. See Figure 1.

2. Using a small "trim tool" or equivalent (if using a metal tool make sure the metal tip is covered) remove the buttons.





^ Insert "trim tool" into the gap at the top of the button and pivot the "trim tool" upward to loosen and remove the button. See Figure 2.





3. Install the new button by inserting the bottom edge first then press the top edge inward until it snaps into place. See Figure 3.





4. Test each button to make sure the red indicator light illuminates. See Figure 4.

5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 for each button.
