IF YOU CONFIRM
The driver seat lumbar support will not operate, or does not operate correctly,

NOTE:
The customer may report that the lumbar support is "weak", or that it does not give enough support or pressure.

ACTION
Replace the lumbar support assembly with the new one listed in the Parts Information.

NOTE:
DO NOT replace the entire seat back assembly for this incident.

CLAIMS INFORMATION

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE





1. The seat back finisher is held on by four J-shaped hooks and two non-reuseable clips (see Figure 1). Remove the seat back finisher as follows:





a. Slightly insert your fingers into the upper sides of the finisher. Then push down carefully at the top to release the top J-hooks.





b. From the top, reach inside the seat and release the two side J-hooks.





c. Using a plastic trim tool, pry off the two barbed clips at the base of the finisher.





2. Unhook the seat back cover at the bottom of the seat back.

^ Pull UP to release the hook.





3. Unhook the RH seat back cover hooks.





4a. Carefully pull BACK the seat cover-on the RH side-to uncover the lumbar support assembly mounting bolts (see Figure 4).

b. Remove the 2 mounting bolts (see Figure 4).





5. Disconnect the lumbar motor harness connector.





6a. Rotate the lumbar link (support bar) until the key aligns with the slot.





b. Then remove the lumbar support assembly from the seat.

7. Install the new lumber support assembly in reverse order.





NOTE:
^ Make sure the lumbar support plate is in the correct position as shown in Figure 7.

^ Center point (dimple) on the support bar should be snapped into the center clip on the support plate.

8. Operate the lumbar support. Make sure it is working correctly.
