2007 - 2008 ALTIMA HYBRID; DTC P0133

This bulletin has been amended to include information about the A/F Sensor.

APPLIED VEHICLE:
2007 - 2008 Altima Hybrid (L32HV)

APPLIED POWERTRAIN:
Hybrid Electric Vehicle ONLY

IF YOU CONFIRM:
DTC P0133 (A/F Sensor 1) is stored in the ECM and there are no other drivability issues.

ACTIONS:
Confirm this bulletin applies.

- Check to see if the correct A/F Sensor is installed in the vehicle.

- If the correct A/F Sensor is installed, the A/F Sensor replacement section of this bulletin does not apply.

- Check and compare your Current ECM Part Number to Table A.

If that part number does not match one in Table A, the ECM Reprogramming section of this bulletin does not apply.

- If this bulletin applies in either or both cases, perform the appropriate action(s).

- If this bulletin does not apply in either case, go back to ASIST for further diagnostic and repair information.

NOTE:
As of the date of this bulletin s release, the Part Number in FAST for the 2008 L32HV is incorrect. The Part Number for this vehicle is correct in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

CLAIMS INFORMATION





If applicable, submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) type line claim using the claims coding: (Do not submit if the correct A/F Sensor was already installed.)

AND / OR:





If the ECM does match one listed in Table A on a separate repair line submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) type line claim using the following claims coding:

SERVICE PROCEDURE FOR A/F SENSOR





1. Check the color of the Sensor harness lead tube to verify which Sensor is installed:

- If the correct Sensor is installed, this section does not apply. Proceed to Service Procedure for ECM.

- If the correct Sensor is not installed, replace it with the correct one from the Parts Information section of this bulletin. Once done proceed to Service Procedure for ECM.

SERVICE PROCEDURE FOR ECM

1. Connect C-III to the vehicle to begin the reprogramming procedure.

2. When you get to the ECM Reprogramming screen shown in Figure 1, confirm this section applies as follows:

A. On your C-III screen, look at the Part Number column (see Figure 1):

- If this column is blank (no part number listed), this section does not apply.

- If a Part Number is listed, write it on the Repair Order.

B. Go to C.

C. Compare the Part Number you wrote down to the numbers in the Current ECM Part Number column in Table A.

- If there is a match, this section applies. Continue with the reprogramming procedure.





- If there is not a match, ECM reprogramming does not apply. If the A/F Sensor was replaced in the SERVICE PROCEDURE FOR A/F SENSOR section of this bulletin, proceed to Step 4. If the A/F Sensor was not replaced close C-III and refer to ASIST for further diagnostic information.

3. If this section applies and you have performed ECM reprogramming, when complete the screen in Figure 2 appears.





Print this page and attach it to the Repair Order for Warranty documentation.

4. Make sure to erase DTCs from all Systems.

NOTE:
During the reprogramming DTCs will set in several systems. DTCs must be erased from all systems.

5. Test drive the vehicle and make sure it operates correctly and the Check Engine light is OFF.

- If the Check Engine light comes ON; diagnose, perform repairs, and erase DTCs.

- Diagnosis and repairs beyond the ECM reprogramming are not covered by this bulletin.

6. For 2007 models, Erase the ND3 data.

- Instruction for using/erasing ND3 data are on the C-III Toughbook (R) go to:

C: \ ASIST \ tools \ ND3
