CAMPAIGN I.D #: P9205

APPLIED VEHICLES: 2008-2009 Altima HEV (L32HV)

Check Service Comm to confirm campaign eligibility.

INTRODUCTION

Nissan has determined that on some 2008 and 2009 Model Year Altima Hybrid vehicles, the Engine Control Module (ECM) may not retain the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) during some operating conditions. If the ECM does not retain the VIN, the VIN will not display at the appropriate times when using On Board Diagnostic (OBD) equipment, and affected vehicles will likely therefore fail an emissions test. To remedy this condition, Nissan is conducting this Voluntary Service Campaign to reprogram the ECM at no charge for parts or labor.

Nissan will begin notifying affected customers in March 2009.

IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

Nissan has assigned identification number P9205 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communications and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign.

DEALER RESPONSIBILITY

Dealers are to correct each vehicle falling within the range of this campaign that enters the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties or presented by transient (tourist) owners and vehicles in a dealer's inventory.
