2007 - 2009 VERSA; MAIN HARNESS TO BODY HARNESS ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR CORROSION

IF YOU CONFIRM:

An electrical issue caused by corrosion in the Main Harness to Body Harness connectors located at the bottom of the A-pillar (driver or passenger side),

NOTE:
^ Examples of electrical issues that may occur are; turn signal light on when dome lamp is on, dome lamp remains on when doors are closed, radio remains on when ignition is off, etc.





^ See Figure 1 above for connector locations.

ACTIONS:

1. Replace the Main Harness and Body Harness (see Service Procedure).

2. Apply "Harness Protector" to the harness connectors on both the driver side and passenger side.

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTION" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing the repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Replace the Main Harness and the Body Harness as follows:

If corrosion is only on the driver side;

^ Replace the Main Harness and the Left (Driver Side) Body Harness.

If corrosion is only on the passenger side;

^ Replace the Main Harness and the Right (Passenger Side) Body Harness.

If corrosion is on both the driver side and passenger side;

^ Replace both the Left and Right (Driver and Passenger Side) Body Harnesses and the Main Harness.

NOTE:
Refer to the Service Manual for harness replacement information.





2. Apply harness protector to the connectors on both the driver and passenger side as shown in Figures 2 and 3.

^ Harness protector is listed in the Parts Information.

NOTE:
Figure 2 and 3 is for the driver side. The passenger side is similar.
