SERVICE INFORMATION
CAUTION:
NEVER USE an impact or other power tool to remove the engine oil pump sprocket bolt.
If an impact or other power tool is used to remove the engine oil pump sprocket bolt THE CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET MAY BREAK (See Figure below).
IMPORTANT:
Always use hand tools with a back-up wrench as described in SECTION EM, TIMING CHAIN Removal and Installation in the Electronic Service Manual. This method is also shown in the Figures below.
NOTE:
^ Proper procedure for removing oil pump drive sprocket bolt
^ Use a socket and a "breaker bar" on the bolt.
^ Always use a back-up wrench on the "Width-Across-Flat" (WAF) area of the oil pump shaft.
