SERVICE PROCEDURE

Release Rear Seat Cushion

1. Turn the ignition OFF.

2. Grab and pull up on the seat cushion where pointed out in Figure 1 and 2.

^ Pull up one location at a time.

^ Grab behind the foam underneath the seat cushion nearest to the wire loops.

> Refer to Figure 3 and 4 for the specific area to grab onto.

3. With the seat cushion raised, tug on the wire loops, making sure they are secure.

^ If the wire loops are NOT secure, replace the pad & frame assembly.

NOTE:
DO NOT replace the entire rear seat cushion assembly. Replace only the pad & frame assembly.

^ If the wire loops are secure, make sure they align with the cushion hooks (for insertion).

Replace Cushion Hooks

NOTE:
Always replace the cushion hooks when the seat cushion has been released.

1. Unhook the carpet, and then remove the cushion hooks by pushing in on the red tabs.

^ Push on one tab at a time while pushing up from the bottom of the cushion hook.

^ Figure 6 shows the cushion hook removed for easier viewing of the tabs.

2. Make sure the cushion hook's hole area is flat, not raised.

^ For examples, refer to Figure 8 and 8a.

3. Snap the new cushion hook in place.

^ Make sure the carpet hook is facing the rear of the vehicle.

4. Hook the carpet in place to the cushion hook (see Figure 7).

Install Rear Seat Cushion

1. Position the seat cushion to allow the seat belt buckles to be fitted through (see Figure 9).

^ Install the belt buckles one at a time.

^ Make sure the belt buckles are not mixed or twisted.

2. Push the rear of the seat cushion into its installed position.

3. Insert the wire loops into their hooks, and then snap them in by pressing down on the cushion where shown in Figure 10.

^ Push down with your knee if needed.

4. Verify the loops are securely fastened by tugging up slightly on the seat cushion (see Figure 11).
