Lighting - Tail Lamp Bulb Replacement Procedure

2007-2009 VERSA HATCHBACK; TAIL LAMP/BULB REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

APPLIED VEHICLES: 2007 - 2009 Versa Hatchback (C11)

IF YOU CONFIRM

A tail lamp or tail lamp bulb needs to be replaced for any reason.

ACTION

Follow the Service Procedure in this bulletin for proper removal/replacement.

NOTE:
The Service Procedure in this bulletin can be used for the left or right side tail lamp.

IMPORTANT:
Do not remove the luggage area finisher for tail lamp removal (tail lamp bulb replacement).

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of "ACTION" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE





1. Locate and carefully remove the combination lamp service lids "A" and "B" (see Figure 1).

^ Use a plastic trim tool.

^ Each lid has a small cut-out for using a trim tool.

NOTE:
The right side (passenger side) is shown - the left side (driver side) is similar.





2. Behind Lid "A" -

a. Remove (pull off) the harness mounting clip.





b. Remove the combination lamp mounting nut.

^ Use a wrench to remove this nut.





3. Behind Lid "B" - Remove the combination lamp mounting nut.

^ Use a socket and ratchet for this nut.





4. Remove the combination lamp by pulling it straight back.

^ There are 3 clips that are loosely holding the lamp in place.

5. To replace a bulb, turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to release it.

6. Reinstall the combination lamp in reverse order.
