A/C - No Air Output From Heater/Heater Ticking Noises

CUBE; HEATER DOES NOT BLOW AIR AND/OR MAKES NOISE

IF YOU CONFIRM

The customer describes:

^ the heater does not blow air,

AND/OR

^ the heater makes an abnormal noise (ticking, clicking, clunking, etc.)

AND

Weather conditions were cold/snowy/icy around the time the heater noise and/or inoperation was noted.

AND








The cowl top cover does not have a mesh screen (see Figures 1 and 2).

ACTION

1. Warm up the vehicle.

2. Inspect the blower motor for abnormal noise.

3. Replace the cowl top cover with the one listed in the Parts Information section.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Bring the vehicle inside (indoor shop area).

2. Allow the vehicle to warm up for at least 15 minutes.

3. Turn ON the vehicle heater and set the fan speed control to high. Inspect for abnormal noise.

4. If abnormal noise is detected, replace the blower motor with the one listed in the Parts Information section.

^ Refer to the HA section in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for blower motor removal and installation instructions.

5. Replace the cowl top cover with the one listed in the Parts Information section.

^ Refer to the EXT section in the ESM for cowl top cover removal and installation instructions.
