Body - Sunroof Glass Panel Chatters When Operated

IF YOU CONFIRM

The sunroof glass chatters or vibrates when closing or opening the sunroof.

NOTE:
This incident, if it should occur, may be intermittent.

ACTION

Apply Nissan Silicone Grease (P/N 999MP-AB002) to the sunroof rear links as shown in the Service Procedure.

The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE





1. Open the sunroof to about the 1/3 open position.





2. On one side of the sunroof, measure about 76 mm (3 inches) behind the centerline of the rear link hinge (see Figure 2).

3. Apply a small amount of Nissan silicone grease under the rubber seal (see Figure 2 below and Figure 3).

^ Use only Nissan Silicone Grease - P/N 999MP-AB002

^ Apply grease to a 25 mm (1 inch) length area.





^ Using a plastic trim tool (fineness stick), increase the gap between the rubber seals as shown in Figure 3.

CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage or deform the rubber seals.

^ Apply grease using the application brush supplied with the grease.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the opposite side of the sunroof.

5. After applying the grease, operate the sunroof forward and rearward three times.

6. Wipe off the excess grease from the rubber seals.
