SERVICE INFORMATION





The steering column assembly (Column Assy-Steering, Upper) is now available without the intermediate shaft (Joint Assy-Steering, Lower) attached.

Replace just the steering column assembly if intermediate shaft replacement is not needed.

Reference the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) SECTION PS; STEERING COLUMN Removal and Installation for directions.

IMPORTANT:
^ Follow all cautions, warnings, and notes in the ESM when working on or near a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), such as an air bag.

^ Follow all cautions, warnings, and directions in the ESM regarding steering column assembly removal and installation.

^ Only perform the ESM steps necessary for steering column assembly replacement. It is not necessary to remove the intermediate shaft to replace the steering column assembly.
