NOTES:
^ This procedure can be used for the driver or front passenger seat.

^ The photos shown in this procedure are of the passenger seat. The driver seat is the same.

^ Use covers as needed to protect interior surfaces from being scratched or damaged.

1. Move the seat bottom and seatback to the full forward position.

2. Use pliers or a suitable tool to unzip the zippers on both sides of the seat back finisher.

3. Detach the J-retainer at the bottom of the seat back finisher.

a. Place a plastic trim tool against the part of the retainer shown in Figure 3b.

b. Push that part of the retainer back/away from you.

c. While doing this, pull the seat back finisher down and toward you to unhook it.

4. Lift up the seat back finisher and move it out of the way.

5. Pop-off/remove the head restraint clip by gently squeezing together the spring and bar as shown in Figure 4.

6. Remove the head restraint spring by lifting it up and out of the seat frame.

7. Install the new spring listed in the Parts Information section.

a. Insert one side of the spring into the seat frame.

b. Insert the other side of the spring into the seat frame.

8. Attach the new clip (listed in the Parts Information section) to the head restraint bar. See Figure 7a and 7b.

9. Insert the spring into the clip.

a. Lift up the center part of the spring and insert it into the slot at the top of the clip.

b. Make sure the spring comes out through the slot at the bottom of the clip.

c. Push the spring downward to ensure it is properly positioned in the clip.

10. Reattach the seat back finisher in reverse order of removal.

11. Repeat the procedure on the other front seat, if needed.
