Engine Can not Be Started In "P" Or "N" Position

TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FOR SYMPTOMS


Engine Cannot Be Started in "P" or "N" Position


SYMPTOM:
- Engine cannot be started with selector lever in "P" or "N" position.
- Engine can be started with selector lever in "D", "L" or "R" position.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1.CHECK TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH
Check continuity between transmission range switch harness connector terminals. Circuit Diagram.






OK or NG
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - GO TO 2.
2.CHECK CVT POSITION
Check CVT position. Testing and Inspection.
OK or NG
OK - Adjust CVT position. Adjustment Of CVT Position.
NG - Check transmission range switch (Refer to test group 1.) again after adjusting transmission range switch ( Adjustment Of Transmission Range Switch).
- If OK, INSPECTION END
- If NG, repair or replace transmission range switch. Service and Repair.
3.CHECK STARTING SYSTEM
Check starting system. Description and Operation.
OK or NG
OK - INSPECTION END
NG - Repair or replace damaged parts.
