Versa Combination Meter Replacement





1. Write down the radio station presets.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Adjust and lock the steering column to the Full Down position.





4. Remove Instrument finisher E as follows (see Figure 8).

a. Use a plastic trim tool to raise the front edge.

b. Grasp and pull rearward (toward you) to unsnap and remove.





5. Pull the driver's door seal loose in the area shown in Figure 9.





6. Snap loose and remove the A pillar finisher.

^ Use a plastic trim tool as needed.





7. Snap loose and remove the instrument side panel LH.

^ Use a plastic trim tool as needed.





8. Snap loose and remove the instrument side finisher.

^ Use a plastic trim tool as needed.

9. Remove the Instrument side mask LH (vent finisher LH) as follows:





a. Use a hook tool to release the lower clips (see Figure 13).





b. Lift the bottom of the vent finisher UP and pull to unsnap the upper clips.





10. Remove the bolt shown in Figure 15.





11. Remove steering column upper cover as follows:

a. Remove 1 screw from the bottom.





b. Snap loose and remove the steering column upper cover.

12. Cover the steering column with a fender cover / protective cloth.

13. Remove cluster lid A as follows:





a. Push up on the instrument panel to snap it loose from cluster lid A.

b. Grasp cluster lid A and pull it rearward (toward you) to unsnap and remove it.

NOTE
Clip locations are shown in Figure 18.

14. Remove the combination meter as follows:





a. Remove screw A shown in Figure 19.

b. Carefully pull the combination meter rearward (toward you) to unsnap lower clips B.

c. Pull the meter far enough to tilt it and access the electrical connector.

d. Use a plastic trim tool to unlatch and disconnect the electrical connector.





15. Remove the combination meter from the vehicle.

16. Install the new combination meter in reverse of removal.

CAUTION:
Be careful; do not scratch the clear meter lens.

17. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

18. Reset the clock and the radio presets.

19. If equipped; perform power window initialization as follows:

a. Turn ignition switch ON.

b. Open the window to its full down position by operating the power window switch.

c. Move the power window switch in the up direction (auto close position) and hold. Keep holding the switch even when the window is completely closed, and then release after 4 seconds.

20. If equipped; perform power sunroof initialization as follows:

a. Press the switch to the UP/CLOSE position to tilt the sunroof up fully. When the sunroof reaches the full tilt UP position it will back up a few millimeters and stop.

b. Release the UP/CLOSE switch.

c. Within 5 seconds of releasing the UP/CLOSE switch, press and hold the UP/CLOSE switch again. The sunroof will move to the full open position and back to the closed position.

NOTE:
If the UP/CLOSE switch is released anytime during this teaching process, all learned profile data will be discarded.

d. Release the UP/CLOSE switch. Do not turn the ignition OFF for at least two seconds. The sunroof is now initialized.

21. Check the mileage on the new odometer and confirm it matches the mileage that was written on the replacement odometer order form.

22. Render the old combination meter unusable by breaking the electrical connector.
